( Bucky has no idea why this message has come across his phone so he blinks at it for a moment before responding. )

( But then her phone is lighting up again, this time with a message from actual Izzy, and Clary's bolting up to a sitting position with horror.

please ignore everything i just said. this isn't even clary! this is a stranger who found her phone. she would never send inappropriate messages to people.

( Bucky's even more taken aback at the mention of Clary's vibrator and the mention thereof and he contemplates not responding when he gets her second message. He can let it lie for minimum embarrassment or he can...make the move he's been wanting to make. )

I hope it is Clary 'cause I was going to suggest I come over and fill in for the vibrator.

( Excuse her. She has to double check her phone a couple of times. )

( She's been watching him for what feels like months, her little crush kindled in her chest. But Clary had thought she'd been good at hiding it. What would a guy like him want with a girl like her? )

this is the place where i should make a joke about how old i am but i don't think i will. you don't exactly let a girl draw on you for weeks without feeling something so i'm not sure why this is a shock.

( She does not have a pros and cons list, if only because she couldn't think of any cons. He's hot, he's fun to be around, he talks to her about the Kardashians. And maybe it would be nice to date him, someone who understood her world but also the one that came before.

So she hits call instead of trying to voice that, and when he picks up her voice is a little breathless. )

We could date. If you wanted.

( Bucky isn't expecting a phone call if only because most people these days text or email. He likes the phone, though, and it feels more intimate in situations like this. When he hears Clary's voice on the line, a smile comes into his voice. )

We could definitely date. I happen to be a great date.

( A relieved exhale, Clary's voice returning to something more light and friendly even though there's a new thread of shyness there. )

Admittedly my dates usually end up with a demon attack, so I'm sure anything you'd come up with would be great.

( Bucky grins a bit and it creeps into his voice. )
